Hey, where’d you get that tattoo?

Music, Video

So, it’s a slow day here on the town square of WestVirginiaVille as we try to avoid news websites that document </begin rant>the ongoing disintegration of the U.S. government’s ability to get anything done, thanks be to a nihilistic Republican party and a chief executive so intent on bipartisanship with a party that has no interest in partying responsibly that the entire ship of state is going down, Titanic-like</end rant>

Our minds turn to tattoos instead.

As we gaze at our single tattoo on our right bicep, which we wish, alas, was more magnificent (the bicep, that is), we have a question for you, our readers who are tattooed: How did you get your tattoo? And where? And what did you choose? And why?

The video above recounts the international birth of three tattoos in 2008, including the dragon that looks up at us when we look down at it. So, this is a reader submission challenge, if you have a diverting tale to tell about the birth of any of your tattooed parts. Send photos, of course, and point us to video, if you have it.  Submit your tale in the ‘Comments‘ to this post or e-mail tales and photos to info@ westvirginiaville.com.

Nephew Neil's Rome-born tattoo which reads ''La Dolve Vita' (the sweet or good life).

While tattoos are an expression of ourselves, getting one can lead to expressions.

If you're ever in Rome and feel the need to get tattooed. Call Fabio. Or Claudio.
